Coronavirus Update

17th March 2020

Hey Church,

You may have seen our recent information on social media regarding precautions relating to Covid-19. As a leadership team we take the well-being of the Church very seriously and recognise the importance of a wise and appropriate response to the Coronavirus. With this in mind we thought it might be helpful to clarify some things for you.

We, along with many other churches are taking our guidance from the Government, Health & Safety England and AOG GB.

With prayer and consideration we have decided that effective immediately all church activities will be cancelled until further notice. This includes:

  • Sunday services
  • Coffee morning
  • Prayer meetings
  • Toddler group
  • Alpha
  • Youth Life Group

The situation is changing daily so we are doing all we can to adjust and respond where possible.

Can I encourage you in 3 things:
1. Take care of yourself

Your health and well-being is important, take note of the guidelines given by the Government. If you need help, just ask!

2. Take care of those around you

This will be a challenging time for many of us. A phone call or a text message to someone can make all the difference - check in with each other!

3. Pray

We encourage you to pray for our government leaders, healthcare professionals, those that are vulnerable within our community and those affected by this situation.

Isaiah 41:10 says:

“Fear not, for I am with you; so not be dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

It is in these moments where we can walk in confidence knowing that God is for us, He is with us, and He will help us. It is because of this that we can have peace in uncertain times and have faith that Jesus really is over everything.

Let’s choose to BE the church and show our community what it looks like to experience the radical hope and love of Jesus.
