Lytham Dementia Sing-Along Group

Connecting with memories and emotions through song

Every Monday we run a dementia friendly sing-along group. It's an informal group for people living with dementia and their loved ones.

No need to book, just turn up - we'll have the kettle on ready!

Did you know that singing can improve your brain activity, wellbeing and mood? And you don't need to be a good singer to benefit!

Our sessions include:

  • Refreshments on arrival
  • Fun vocal warm-ups
  • A wide selection of familiar songs
  • Space to express yourself, feel positive and create new friends
  • Compassionate volunteers who are available to support you with anything you need

After doing some research we realised there was nothing in the area like this and so here we are. We created this space to bring a little joy to those living with dementia and their loved ones, and to allow opportunity to meet others who are who are living with it too.

Each sing-along session includes a whole variety of songs including Frank Sinatra, The Beatles and Elvis Presley, all excellently led by musical directors Jayne and Phill from Connect Community Groups.
